Notable Sneaker Releases This Week

This week brought a solid mix of hype, heritage, and under-the-radar gems:
Levi’s x Nike Air Max 95 (3 Colorways)
This collab flew off shelves instantly, and while I personally passed due to the Air Max 95’s lackluster comfort, I respect the execution. Levi’s knows how to bring texture and story together—just not something I need in rotation right now.New Balance 992 'Marsh Green' | 🔥 Sleeper Pick of the Week
One word: sleeper. The leather upper gives these a "quiet luxury" edge, and the colorway is perfect for summer. They sold out on New Balance’s site but are still floating around at a few retailers if you move quick.Where To Buy: Concepts | Sneaker Politics
Jordan 40 ‘The Classic’
The latest chapter in the Air Jordan line took a minimalist approach. The design may not be for everyone, but it sold out fast thanks to exclusivity (Nike/Footlocker only) and limited numbers. At $205, it’s a bold step forward—or sideways—depending on who you ask.
My Pickup This Week:
ASICS Gel-1130 ‘White/Cloud Grey’
I finally got my hands on the ASICS Gel-1130 in that super clean White/Cloud Grey colorway. Scooped these in-store at JD Sports for just $90 after using a $10 Status coupon—value win.
Retail Price: $100
Paid: $90
Initial Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Review: Live now on the site and YouTube
These hit all the marks for me: affordable, versatile, and surprisingly comfy. Whether you're running errands or just need a stylish daily driver, this pair is perfect for back-to-school or everyday wear. Definitely a strong recommend.
Sneaker News Spotlight
A Ma Maniére Unveils 'Black Collective' Jordan 5
Originally expected to drop on Juneteenth, A Ma Maniére just revealed their Black Collective x Air Jordan 5—and let me tell you, it’s worth the wait. The design is elevated, understated, and right on-brand for AMM. But what makes this even more meaningful is their partnership with Seed2Shirt—the first Black-owned, vertically integrated apparel supply chain. The laces and apparel are made from cotton grown by Black farmers, giving this release a deeper historical and cultural connection. Salute to everyone involved in bringing this full-circle moment to life.

What’s Dropping Next Week?
We’ve got some heat lined up for the week ahead. Here’s what’s on the radar:

Air Jordan 8 ‘Aqua’ (Jul 19)
A retro favorite. Colors look slightly different this time around, so I’m excited to see them in hand. Might be an easy grab if you plan ahead.Women’s Air Jordan 8 ‘Starfish’ (Jul 18)
This one’s clean. Textures and color combo hit just right—expect these to look dope on-foot for the ladies.Women’s Kobe VI Protro ‘Total Orange’ (Jul 18)
Bold, bright, and ready to turn heads. If you’re into standout kicks, this one should be on your radar. Might be a tough cop though—act accordingly.
Wrapping Things Up On The Week
All in all, a solid week with a nice balance of storytelling, sneaker evolution, and low-key winners. Personally, I’m still thinking about that Marsh Green 992—just the kind of subtle flex I like. And big props to A Ma Maniére for continuing to lead with both style and substance.
Question of the Week:
