Sneaker Quality:

Materials: AJ1 “Satin Black Toe”

While this isn’t a “collab” shoe, I was hoping Jordan Brand decided to adorn the shoe with something better as far as leather quality.

When it comes to the satin, I like the look and feel of the ribbed material and think it isn’t much of a downgrade from the traditional satin that was used on previous satin models.

Construction: AJ1 “Satin Black Toe”

Fortunately, the construction of this shoes was on point in all aspects. I seen no real glaring issues in the pair that I purchased.

Although the leather wasn’t great, I will say that it was consistent on both shoes and the stitching was clean throughout.

Sneaker Fit & Comfort:

Fit: AJ1 “Satin Black Toe”

I didn’t purchase this particular shoe in my size, however, I’m sure this shoe fit the same as any other Air Jordan 1 shoe.

Most go true to size in AJ1s, but if you’re one who prefers a snug fit, you may opt to go a half-size down.

Cushioning: AJ1 “Satin Black Toe”

No real changes in the comfort of the Air Jordan 1. It’s not the worst shoe, but it leaves much to be desired when it comes to midsole cushioning.

Having said that, the shoe does it more comfortable over time as the shoe starts to mold to your foot, but don’t expect a huge jump in comfort.

Sneaker Style & Value:

Wearability: AJ1 “Satin Black Toe”

You can never go wrong with a Chicago colorway on the iconic Air Jordan 1 silhouette. This is easily one of the best shoes to pair with tons of outfits and a must-have for any sneakerhead, sneaker collector, or even casual consumer. Plus, the satin on the back heel adds a bonus touch of texture that helps the shoe pop.

Pricing: AJ1 “Satin Black Toe”

Sneakerheads, collectors, and resellers will undoubtedly look at this shoe as an extreme value. Retailing for a mere $160, this shoe will easily reach $1,000+ in resell value in no-time.

However, if you’re a casual consumer who looks at shoes functionally, will probably see this shoe as a rip-off that’s not worth the money due to its outdated midsole and cushioning technology.

At the end of the day, no perspective is right or wrong, but the value of this shoe just depends on how you view things.
